Manel Ruiz Lens, born in Barcelona, made his debut in 1997 behind the decks at the legendary Nitsa club as Dj Ebola, just as the Murmurtownlagloria collective moved to the Apolo theatre. Over the next 6 years, he was a resident at the touring club Moviedisco, sharing the stage with numerous European and American artists who are now key references for new generations, such as Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, John Aquaviva, L.F.O., and many more. In 1999, he began his production career with his friend Jose Yeti, founding Neue Lärmklassiker, the project that would release its first EP on the now-defunct Minifunk Records label. He released two EPs and a couple of remixes under his current name, Sistema, for Factorcity. Later, he decided to found his own label with Marc Frigola, a DJ and promoter from Barcelona, which would take the name of his first project, Neue Larmklassiker—a label with a strong dub techno character, influenced by the sound of Basic Channel, Maurizio, Echospace, and Detroit. He also shared the Umbral project with the resident DJ of Apolo club in Barcelona, Dj de Mierda, recording for Bedrock Records and Traum Schallplatten. After editing remixes for Cora Novoa and Ryan Davis on Henry Saiz’s label, Natura Sonoris, he released his first LP “Possible sounds of Möbius” in April 2012.
A production career featuring over 50 releases, from EPs, compilations, and remixes to his LP, which does not adhere to any conventional style, but is instead influenced by a wide range of musical interests while retaining a clear trademark… high melodic content and an evocative spirit. This has allowed him to work with labels such as Bedrock, Traum Schallplatten, Gigolo, Factorcity, Paradigma, or Pong, collaborate with Felix Da Housecat, perform at the most respected festivals and clubs on the national scene (Sónar, Monegros, Moog, Offf…), deliver DJ and live sets in Beijing, Hong Kong, Brussels, Paris, Seoul, Buenos Aires, Munich, Frankfurt, and Berlin, and support one of his 80s electronic music idols at Apolo club, John Foxx. Starting in the mid-90s as Dj Ebola, a pseudonym under which he blended the Moviedisco (BCN) dance floor with acid charges, the restless Barcelona artist began developing his inner vision through the production and recording of electronic music under various aliases such as Neue Lärmklassiker, Miedo Escénico, 100.cia, and 6tma, releasing and collaborating with major labels like Minifunk, FactorCity, Gigolo Records, Traum, Bedrock, Science of Sounds, among others. Under his 6tma alias, Manel portrays his passion for the dancefloor by mixing acid rave tracks loaded with strong melodic tones, leading him to a residency at Moog (BCN) and overseeing Polybius Trax. Additionally, his musical expertise encompasses mastering and mixing work for a wide variety of projects.

He is able to mix cosmic wave with current electronica, and then masterfully veer towards acid, electro and EBM, moving seamlessly into repetitive 4×4 techno rhythms, the prevalent Moog Club style.
