Today, he keeps pushing the envelope, following instincts rather than stratagems. To do so, he favours a continuous dialogue with like-minded artists. His alliance with Axel Boman in Talaboman has just birthed a new label, and his Lost Scripts duo with Pional keeps delivering sparkles of brilliance, but those are just two of the several joint projects he currently has in play. Some might be announced soon, some might never see the light of day, but most importantly: they keep ideas flowing. A need for discovery that also defines his tireless search for music, making him one of those rare DJs that can effortlessly juxtapose efficacy, risk, and revelation.

His all-nighter sets have reached a cult status, with memorable examples in prominent venues and festivals such as Sónar, Pickle Factory, Moog, or the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow. Moreover, beyond playing music, his curatorial endeavors keep expanding, having commissioned stages in festivals such as Primavera Sound or Nuits Sonores, or bringing his Hivern Discs label’s nights to clubs around Europe. In many ways, his work with the label epitomizes his understanding of music: rigorous and committed, but constantly dynamic and open to the unexpected. Because if John Talabot has made something clear over the last decade, it is that growth always comes from the will to keep exploring. Having just joined an agency like Futura, with which he shares so many affinities, can only mean that new paths are ready to be crossed.

Speaking of Angel implies understanding the art of DJing as a process of shared exploration with the audience, where sounds and rhythms, beyond any specific timeframe, serve as a meeting point on the dancefloor. His mixing style, backed by precise technique and a thoughtful selection, shapes sets where layers of ambient, drones, and rougher or fragmented rhythmic structures coexist. However, his approach never strays from the 4×4 pulse or techno as the central axis of his sets, which acts as the narrative thread. The result is a journey navigating between the elemental and the contemporary, maintaining a tangible connection with the body and the surrounding space.

In recent years, he has maintained a constant presence across various contexts and formats. Beyond the club environment, in 2025 he performed at Sónar (Barcelona), presenting a set for the ARTE.tv channel, and in 2026 he joined the lineup for the Mostra festival (Barcelona), a setting where he explored a less conventional approach, expanding the reach of his musical dialogue. That same year, he released his CD mix A Tad Too Blunt…, a release that highlights the more experimental side of his career.
