The genesis of an artist is never a simple story, and for Maeghan Donovan, now known as Maedon, this is especially true. A native of gritty Baltimore who later spent time in equally raw Philadelphia honing her craft, her move to New York City around 2018 marked a turning point—one underscored by the emergence of her Maedon moniker. Already a longtime student of industrial and wave music, applying these ideas to the tough techno pioneered by NYC’s legendary Sonic Groove led her to new breakthroughs and quickly earned her an international following, solidified further by her relocation to Berlin in 2019. Now, three years, two albums, and an entire world later, Maeghan pushes forward into the next phase of a rapidly rising career.

Her acclaimed 2022 collaborative full-length with Adam X as Maedon-X, released on the iconic Tresor label, showcased her refined production skills alongside raw, often autobiographical or political titles and vocal content. In 2023 she launched her own imprint, Rant & Rave, signaling both a renewed focus on pure, high-level techno and a deliberate effort to elevate female artists—an initiative shaped by her own experiences in a male-dominated subculture.

Now a resident at Tresor, her achievements reaffirm her place both behind the decks and in the studio, while a busy release schedule—featuring legends and emerging names alike—positions Rant & Rave as a force to watch.
